Why Do My Custom Rows Disappear When I Refresh My LiveFlow Report
Last updated: February 9, 2026
Issue
Custom rows or columns you add to a spreadsheet that contains a LiveFlow report are removed every time you refresh the report.
Why this happens
This usually occurs when the report is set up as a Database Report.
When Database Report is toggled on:
The report refreshes like a live database table
Inserted rows are overwritten or removed on refresh
You cannot add your own rows to the sheet
You can add custom columns, but they behave differently (see below)
Solution
Turn off the Database Report setting for the affected report.
Follow these steps:
Open the LiveFlow extension in Excel or Google Sheets
Navigate to Manage Reports and click the report that’s experiencing the issue
Under Customization, select Advanced
Make sure Database Report is toggled off
Once disabled, you’ll be able to insert and keep your own rows and columns when refreshing the report.
Important notes about Database Reports
Database Reports can be useful in certain scenarios:
They work well for large datasets
They’re ideal when using LiveFlow purely as a data source for analysis or presentations
When adding custom columns to a Database Report:
Any formula or value entered in the first cell below the header will automatically copy down to all rows
However:
Any inserted rows will be overwritten on refresh
Summary
If you want full control over adding and keeping custom rows, make sure Database Report is turned off.
