How to Add Departments and Assign Budget Owners in FinanceIQ

Creating a master budget in FinanceIQ involves setting up departments and assigning ownership. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click "Add New Department"
    After setting your budget name, period, and entity, click the "Add New Department" button.

  2. Enter Department Details
    Input a clear department name that aligns with your internal structure (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Operations).

  3. Assign Budget Owners
    Assign one or more team members as budget owners for that department. These users will be responsible for inputting budget data.

    Example:

    • Department: Sales

    • Budget Owners: John Smith, Jane Doe

  4. Repeat for All Departments
    Add additional departments as needed, assigning appropriate owners to each.

  5. Continue to Next Step
    Once all departments are added and owners assigned, click "Continue" to move on to account assignments.

That’s it! You’ve successfully structured your budget by department and delegated ownership.
